BIFL - Week 3 Review C

Bardey just pointed out to me that I've posted 26 times in the month of September, including Parts A and B of this week. This will be my 27th (and last) of the month, and along with the Crabtree Watch and Who the Fuck Are You columns in the margin, that averages out to about one fantasy football post a day.
Please. Somebody. Find me a job.

Ass-Ramming HotCocks (82) defeat FUBAR (68)
This was not a pretty game. In fact, the top and fourth-highest scorers in this one were on the bench (Pierre Thomas's 27 and Kevin Walter's 16). Playing those guys would have put me over a hundred for a respectable fantasy victory, but as it is I didn't need to be too respectable to beat Spence in this one. 68 points is what happens to a team that depends on Drew Brees when Drew Brees doesn't produce (4 points this week). In fact, you can pretty much chalk this one to up the difference between by QB and Spence's. Otherwise: Spence had one guy in the high teens (Tashard Choice, 19), and I had one guy in the high teens (Anquan Boldin, 17). Spence's tight end (Chris Cooley, 3) and my tight end (Visanthe Shiancoe, 2) didn't do shit. Both our kickers (my Robbie Gould and his Rob Bironas) scored 5. And so, shockingly, I owe my second victory of the season to David Garrard (16), a player I had only planned on using in Donovan McNabb's bye week. Thanks, David! See if you can not suck for one more week.

Chip Lohmiller (148) defeats I'm Here for the Gangbang (67)
Spencer and I combined only barely would have defeated Chip Lohmiller, who posted the high score of the week, and the year so far. There wasn't a single stinker amongst the Lohmiller players, and even the bench played pretty well (in fact, Dekker would have scored even more if he'd played Percy Harvin instead of Mike Sims-Walker). Here's the roll call of Dekker's dominance: Maurice Jones-Drew (35), DeSean Jackson (24), Matt Schaub (24), Reggie Wayne (20), LeSean McCoy (14). That's a hell of a fantasy day. Now averaging 115 points per week, does this mean that Dekker's team is the one to beat here in Biffle? Maybe, maybe not. LeSean McCoy's value is dependent on Brian Westbrook being out. MJD was playing a lousy Houston defense this week. DeSean Jackson is a boom-or-bust fantasy asset, and this week probably represents the high end of his boom ability. But while they might not match this week's output, all the afore-mentioned guys are still gonna give you points week in and out, and Dekker's got enough talent on the bench (Ray Rice, Mark Sanchez, Percy Harvin) to spell them during the coming spate of bye weeks. When the Lassard Power Rankings come out (soonish), Chip Lohmiller might just find himself at the top. I'm Here for the Gangbang, however, will not. His most valuable asset, Frank Gore, went down in the first quarter this week with 0 points. His keeper steal, Steve Slaton (10), had a decent Week 3 but has otherwise been a bust so far. His top receiving option, Randy Moss (13), is catching passes from a quarterback who appears to have lost much of the mojo that made him a fantasy force a few years ago. There could be some more 67-point weekends to come.
